Organic No-Till Production
Content Source: Iowa State University

Resource Explained
Reduced tillage or no-till farming offers several environmental benefits, especially for soil health, and can help lower costs for machinery, labor, and fuel. In organic no-till farming, unlike conventional methods, herbicides can't be used to terminate cover crops. Since 2005, Iowa State University has partnered with the Rodale Institute to research organic no-till techniques for growing soybeans, corn, and vegetables, helping farmers optimize their practices for both productivity and sustainability.
