Impact of Tillage Practices and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Inoculation on Organic Sweet Corn Yield and Nutritional Quality
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are a type of fungi that form mutualistic relationships with many plant species and can boost crop productivity, resiliency, and quality. However, frequent soil disruption (i.e., tillage) can reduce natural AMF populations. This Rodale Institute study evaluated the effects of tillage practices and AMF inoculation on organic sweet corn yield, horticultural traits, nutrient composition, and root colonization.

Organic Dry Bean Cultivar Evaluation in the Northeast and Upper U.S. Midwest: Opportunities for Growers and Food Systems
Domestic dry bean production greatly declined in the early 20th century due to the bean common mosaic virus and white mold. Plant breeding and cultivar developments have helped address production issues. This study evaluated several dry bean cultivars in field trials across four states, as well as in-person surveys to determine consumer preferences for different dry bean cultivars.
